My friend was telling me about two Maine hotels that she stayed in. She said that the first one was really bad and the second really good. I think the problem was that she was trying not to spend much money and so booked up something really cheap which did not live up to her standards. She likes everything to be clean and tidy, new and neat and of course, a budget hotel may have older sheets, towels and furniture and they may not live up to her high standard. She said that she did complain a few times but they basically moved her to a room which was no better so in the end she checked out and looked at the other hotels in Maine. She found one that she liked and although it was a lot more expensive she reckoned that she could not have survived in the other one a night longer. I think it is to do with what you are used to and what you are prepared to pay for. Not all hotels are luxurious you get what you pay for. Personally I book up somewhere a bit dearer and then I know that I will get spoilt in the fashion that I like to be with the best sheets and towels, good service and great food.
